RPF arrests burglars

GUWAHATI, June 12: The Railway Protection Force (RPF), NF Railway in an effort to ensure safety of train passengers arrested two persons from Guwahati railway station who were identified as Jaherul Islam (29), and Md Jamal Ali (36). The RPF recovered one Samsung J7 mobile, one wallet containing cash Rs. 2,500, one BOI ATM Card and a PAN Card, which were stolen from one passenger, Uday Kumar.

Later on, the apprehended persons along with the recovered articles were handed over to the OC, GRP, Guwahati. On the same day, another person identified as Mintu Phukan alias Tokla alias Musaraf Ali (20) was also apprehended and recovered one VIVO V5 PLUS Mobile phone from his possession.

Notably, the RPF has been credited for apprehending 61 criminals on charges of theft of passenger belongings during the year 2017 while in the current year 24 criminals have been arrested by RPF so far.
