Rughu Welfare Society Lodges Complaint Against Police Officers

Itanagar: The Rughu Welfare Society (RWS) has lodged an FIR at the Itanagar police station here, against the magistrate in-charge and police officers posted on duty at the private residence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu on February 24 last where the firing took place over PRC protest, claiming two lives. “During the indiscriminate police firing against the PRC protesters on February 24, two youths died on the spot while many suffered injuries including Rughu Welfare Society (RWS) vice president, Rughu Tah (Dagang),” the society has claimed in the FIR which was lodged on Thursday. Strongly condemning the incident, the society further blamed the magistrate and police department for the incident and demanded the State police to seize all the service riffle used at the time of the particular incident and conduct a proper forensic lab test in order to detect the erring personnel and book them according to the law of the land. It further threatened to resort to democratic action in case the erring personnel are not arrested within a week.
