Rural health workers stage demonstration

Tinsukia, Feb 16:  The Village Health Guide Association, Assam Tinsukia District committee staged demonstration in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office here today.

The Village Health Guide Association alleged that around 18,689 of Health Guide cadres are working under village health guide scheme of government of India, but they were not getting their arrear as well as salaries for a long time and their services were also not regularized.

Health Guide services is introduced by the Government of India in the year 1977. But now the cadres are not regularized. The Health Guide Association has demanded immediate regularization of their posts and release of their salaries and the arrear as well.
