Sacred Games 2 Posters: Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Ganesh Gaitond Gets A Makeover

After ending the first season having an open-ending, Netflix India was bound to bring back the critically successful show Sacred Games based on Vikram Chandra’s book by the same name. Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, India’s first Netflix original was subjected to memes around Hawaldar Katekar (Jitendra Joshi), Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan), Ganesh Gaitond, (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), the track will have him trying to retain his position as the don of Mumbai. Anjali (Radhika Apte) and Bunty (Jatin Sarna).

The first posters of Sacred Games season 2 are out and show lead actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a new avatar. The channel shared Nawazuddin’s character poster with the caption, “Pichli baar kya bola tha Ganesha bhai ko? Aukaat!” The actor, who plays Ganesha Gaitonde within the web series, is seen clad up in a suit on the poster. This hints at his rise in the second season as the show follows his story after his death within the first episode of the first season.

The other posters feature Saif Ali Khan as Inspector Sartaj Singh with a bandaged hand as his thumb was cut off by Luke Kenny’s character Malcolm Mourad within the last season. Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who was seen in a temporary but important role within the first season is additionally set to come during a bigger role.

The makers had released the cast of the new season during a special video some days ago. After Radhika Apte’s character Anjali was murdered and Kubbra Sait’s character Kukoo killed herself, the makers have introduced Kalki Koechlin as Batya and Ranvir Shorey as Shahid Khan as new additions to the star cast.

The second season has been extensively shot in Mombasa, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. The makers had additionally released a statement amid the build-up to the second season, “The brand-new season promises a brand new trail of friendship, betrayal, crime, passion, and an exciting chase through Mumbai’s underbelly with these new characters.”

The teaser of the TV series was shared on the Netflix official Twitter account, as the second season of the series will be a hugely popular crime drama, but in the teaser, they didn’t reveal any footage but implied that Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde will return in the same character.

Based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same name, Sacred Games revolves around the life of gangster Ganesha Gaitonde, who gave a warning to Inspector Sartaj Singh play by Saif Ali Khan a couple of doable nuclear attack before his death.
