SAF Games to begin second week of December

GUWAHATI, June 23: The tentative date of the South Asian Federation Games (SAF), which will be jointly hosted by Guwahati and Shillong, was filized in a meeting held in New Delhi today. The Games will start in the second week of December. Disclosing the news to The Sentinel a top official of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department said that the tentative date for the Game is fixed December 10-20. The representatives of the eight participating tions will meet in New Delhi next month and the exact date of the Games will be announced thereafter. It may be mentioned here that apart from the top officials of the Sports and youth Affairs department today's meeting was also attended by the representatives of IOA along with state government officials from both Assam and Meghalaya respectively.
