SAF Games Torch reaches Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Jan 19: The Torch of the 12th South Asian Games reached in Guwahati today. Tikhor, the Games mascot,  along with officials of the Organising Committee were present at the airport to receive the Torch.

The organizing committee informed the media that the Torch will now take part in two Mini Marathon which will be held in Shillong and Guwahati respectively as a part of the awareness campaign of the forthcoming game. The Shillong part of Mini Marathon-Run for North East- will be held on January 21 and Guwahati leg on next day.

After these events, the torch will travel to all the eight states of North East India and will try to create awareness about the Games. The idea behind to take the torch to the other capital of Northeast states is to ensure people’s participation in the Games.
