Sahajanda Oja, bab Ali, ren Sabhapandit to receive VCAA Award

GUWAHATI, Sept 16: Veteran cricketer ren Sabhapandit will receive this year’s Life Time Achievement Award from Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA). The association also selected veteran sports organizer Sahajanda Oja and cricket coach bab Ali for their other two annual awards. All three will receive the awards in a function on September 23 which will be organized by the Veteran Cricket Association of Assam as a part of their foundation Day celebration.

Announcing the news to the media the secretary of the Veteran Cricket Association of Assam sir Gul Khan today said, “Sahajanda Oja will receive Nurul Amin Sports Organizer Award while bab Ali is selected for this year Life Time Achievement Award for coach.  All three would receive cash award of Rs 30,000 each along with citation.”

The association will also felicitate top performers of the state in different tiol level meet for the year 2016-17.

Meanwhile Governor of Assam Banwari Lal Purohit will attend the award function as Chief Guest. On the other hand former pace bowler of Team India Karson Ghavri will be the Special Guest in the function.

Apart from sir Gul Khan Today’s media briefing was also attended by president of VCAA ba Konwar and few other members including Sankar Dutta Lahakar and Sajjad Zahir Hussain.

The list of players to be felicitated: Cricketer of the Year: Riyan Parag. U-16: Danish Das. U-19: Rahul Singh. U-23: Sunzow Brahma. Ranji Trophy: Arup Das. U-19 Women: Rashmi Dey. U-23 Women: Nirupama Boro.
