Sai, Kashyap to skip SAG

GUWAHATI, Feb, 4:  Bad news for the sports lovers of Shillong as two top shuttlers of the country Sai Nehwal and P Kashyap has withdrawn their me from the 12th South Asian Games. Both the shuttlers decided to skip the tourment because of injury.

 The badminton event will kick off on February 6 at SAI-SAG centre in Nehu, shillong. The team championship is scheduled for February 6 and 7 for men and women respectively. The semifils and fils will be held on February 8. The individual events will be held on February 9 and 10.

Entire Indian team, barring these two players, will reach Guwahati tomorrow afternoon and will go straight to Shillong from the airport.

Talking to The Sentinel an official of BAI today said, “ Sai and Kashyap are not fully fit and they want some rest. Both the shuttlers requested us and their request were granted.”

However another Indian top women shuttler PV Sindhu will accompany the Indian team along with doubles specialist Jwala Gutta.
