Sainik Bhavan iugurated at Haflong

Haflong, Feb 27: Commodore K C Choudhury, VSM (retired) Director, Directorate of Sainik Welfare, along with Ranjit Hazarika, Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao, and Vivek Raj Singh, Superintendent of Police of Dima Hasao, iugurated the newly-constructed Sainik Bhavan in presence of representatives of the Army and a large number of senior officers of the district administration at Haflong on Sunday.

The district of Dima Hasao has about 300 Ex-Servicemen, including 87 widows, and the iugural function was attended by more than 100 of them. The Sainik Bhavan has a rest house for the ex-servicemen and the office of the Welfare Organizer of Dima Hsao.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Hazarika highlighted the achievements of the Sainik Board under Commodore K C Choudhury during the last four years.  He also requested for help and support from ex-servicemen to clean the famous Haflong Lake and to take active part in disaster magement.
