Saint Claret College fest 'Darpan' concludes

ZIRO: Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh Prof. Saket Kushwaha, along with District Forest Officer Koj Rinya, attended ‘Darpan’, the departmental fest of Saint Claret College, here on Sunday. Darpan, a contest among the academic departments of the college, was conducted in two parts: A themed cultural presentation of 15 minutes by each department, and a themed exhibition. All nine departments put up remarkable stage performances, which captivated the audience. The themed exhibition by each department consisted of outstanding items on display based on the departmental disciplines.

The entire event was witnessed by the audience consisting of various dignitaries, officials, principals of educational institutions, and school and college students.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Saket Kushwaha praised the College for having organized such an event which gives students the opportunity to express their learning creatively. He also urged the students to be honest seekers of knowledge, and to acquire skills that will enable them to stand out from the rest.

Rinya stressed that one should learn cultural tolerance, and learn to conserve the environment.

The cultural presentations and the exhibitions were judged by a panel of three judges: Nending Ommo, Assistant Professor - English, Government College, Yachuli; Dr. Alka Lal, Director, Medical Sciences, IGTAMSU; and Mary Vanaja, Counsellor, SCCZ.

All the nine departments put in their hard work and creativity for the past two weeks to contribute to the success of ‘Darpan 2019’.
