Salari gets safe drinking water

ITAGAR, Dec 12: The people of Salari village erupted in joy as pure and safe drinking water filly flowed down their village with the iuguration of a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) by Hydro-Power Development Minister Phurpa Tsering at Salari under Dirang in West Kameng district on Friday. Perched between the tri-junctions of Bomdila, fra and Dirang and famed for its horticultural products specially grapes and oranges, the elixir of life had been eluding denizens of Salari for more than two decades as it was receiving untreated water from the main source at Bomdila which was a constant cause of misery and sickness to people. Dedicating the project to the people, Tsering, who is also the local MLA, expressed his gratefulness to PHED&WS department particularly to Chief Engineer Toko Jyoti and Bomdila Executive Engineer Likha Tekhi for their keen support and initiative in materializing the important project.
