Salman-Katrina Duo to Be Seen Again in Bharat: Katrina Replaces PeeCee

It seems like Katz still manages to be a favourite of Salman and Ali Abbas Zafar. Salman, who’s known for his spirit of true friendship, has always stepped forward to stand up for his friends. And needless to say, Katrina is still in the list, despite moving on after a break up. Salman-Katrina duo was seen in “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) and in its sequel with a lot better performance, “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017). The duo stole our hearts with “Dil Diya Gallan” song from the latter movie. Now they’re ready to make waves in the upcoming movie, “Bharat.”

Yes, you read it right. The suspense is over, and now Katz is in the lead.

Pee Cee is no more in the casting team. Katrina has replaced Priyanka Chopra in Bharat. Ali Abbas told the media, “I am extremely excited to work with Katrina and Salman again.” Ali Abbas had earlier worked with this Bella in “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” (2011) as well as with the Salman-Katrina duo starrer movie, Tiger Zinda Hai. We haven’t just mentioned in airy - gusts that Katrina seems to be Ali Abbas’ favourite too. You got the proof.

Well, favourite or not, a lot of directors, producers, and actors prefer and rely on the favourable rapport they have with others when it comes to working with a team (or forming a team). Hence, the same people get into the team whenever any new projects come up. As is evident, Katrina’s previous work experiences with Ali Abbas turned out to be a hukkum ka ikka for her.

On the other hand, Ali Abbas hasn’t cited any specific reason behind dropping Priyanka Chopra, but he mentioned that it was announced in the “nick of time”. This has somehow led to certain speculations that this may have something to do with Priyanka-Nick’s relation (which is quite contrary to favouring Salman-Katrina duo). After “Jai Gangajal” (2016), Bharat was meant to be her first Hindi film in the span of 2-3 years as she has been busy throughout for Quantico and other Hollywood projects. However, all the guess works (that popped up after Priyanka being dropped out of the cast came up in the news) are at least over now.

Priyanka has many other projects too to focus on (apart from wailing over lost project Salman-Katrina duo starred Bharat) like “The Sky is Pink” by Shonali Bose, where her co-stars are Zaira Wasim and Farhan Akhtar. Another movie, “Isn’t it romantic” is also in the pipeline, in which she will be working with Liam Hemsworth, Adam DeVine and Rebel Wilson.

Bharat is an official remake of “Ode to My Father” (2014), a South Korean film. The movie scripted by Varun V Sharma and Ali Abbas will revolve around India’s history seen through a kaleidoscope of a man’s life. And as of now, the casting includes Kumud Mishra, Of course Salma-Katrina duo, Tabu, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover. The movie is slated to release on an Eid weekend in 2019.
