Samuguri Incident: Miscreants Ransacked BJP leader's Residence, 5 arrested

Samuguri: On Thursday night, few unidentified miscreants allegedly ransacked BJP leader Hasan Ali's residence in Bajiya gaon in Samuguri under Nagaon District. The incident had led to a sensation in the area.

As per eyewitnesses, the miscreants carrying pistol, machete, axe barged into the residence of BJP leader Hasan Ali and attacked the family members of the leader.

Reportedly, one woman, two other persons were physically assaulted by the miscreants in the attack.

There are reports surfacing in the media that the group of miscreants had also looted cash and other jewellery from the residence.

The miscreants also ransacked one Hyundai car and two motorcycles belonging to BJP leader Hasan Ali.

Family members of the leader alleged it to be the handiwork of Congress supporters in the region.

Furthermore, Samuguri police and a team of Security officers reached the spot to get hold of the situation.

The police team also launched an operation in the area to nab down the culprits.

Later, the police team managed to arrest two persons in connection with the incident.

Friday evening incident

Sensation triggered in Samuguri's Bajiyagaon as the police personnel failed to make any further arrests in connection with the incident.

Also, Local BJP members expressed their resentment over Samuguri police for failing in apprehending the miscreants.

Looking into the circumstances, Samuguri circle officer, police officials along with security personnel reached the spot to bring the situation under control.

They further launched an operation and arrested three persons in connection with the incident. Out of the three accused one was identified as Saddam Hussain.

Police also seized two motorcycles during the operation.

It may be mentioned that police are in hunt of the other miscreants, however, maximum of them are reported to be absconding from the area.

Reports further claimed that local people in the area allegedly misbehaved with media persons.
