Sanction letters distributed among 130 tea garden workers

Golaghat, Jan 7: In keeping with the State Government’s initiative to promote fincial inclusion and digital payments, the Golaghat district administration distributed 130 sanction letters under the Chah Bagicha Dhan Puraskar Mela, 2018 among tea garden workers under Khumtai LAC in the district at a ceremonial function held at Daria Tea Estate on Sunday.

Ten workers each from 13 out of the total 15 tea gardens received sanction letters for payment of the first installment of incentives amounting to Rs 2,500 under this scheme.

MLA, Khumtai, Mril Saikia, Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra, SDO (Sadar) M Kutum, Circle Officer, Khumtai, Dr Monika Borah, representatives of NETA and tea garden magement and other dignitaries were also present at today’s ceremony. Sanction letters to rest of the tea gardens will be distributed over the fortnight in a phased manner.
