Sangma talks tough against militants

SHILLONG, Oct 16: Meghalaya Government will focus to ensure that the terrorist and other anti-tiol elements cannot use the state as the safe haven.

This was stated by the Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma while citing that the ULFA and the NDFB(S) are using the state as temporary refuge or transit bases. “Meghalaya have always been seen as one of the safe heaven by many anti-tiols. Today the government is engaged in ensuring that Meghalaya is no longer safe heavens for these anti-tiol elements,” the Chief Minister stated, adding, “All along we are all aware that the training camps of the local terrorist organizations were actually jointly used by ULFA and NDFB.” “We will ensure that Meghalaya no longer remain as the safe heavens for all these anti-tiol elements. There is a concerted effort to create law and order situation so that the focuses of the security agencies who are engaged in neutralizing these anti-tiol elements are diverted, dislocated,” Chief Minister asserted.  Talking about the aggressive pursuits of the government which he claimed to have been visible on the ground, the Sangma concluded by saying that there is no space for crimils and anti tiols in Meghalaya.
