Sanil, Sabhyata win ITF titles

GUWAHATI, Nov 20: Fourth seed Sanil Jagtiani and top seed Sabhyata Nihalani, both from India, won the singles title in the ITF Juniors World Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) Complex here today. In the boys U-18 category Sanil defeated Assam boy and fifth seed Parikshit Somani in a well contested fil by 6-2, 7-6 (3). Sabhyata, in the girls title clash, also had to fight hard to beat her opponent Vaidehi Chaudhari (India). The fate of the game decided in the third set and Sabhyata won it 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-2. Parikshit, who also earned a berth in the doubles fil with Ishaque Eqba , lost the game against top seed Dhruv Sunish-Shrey Gupta  

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by AATA secretary Ankush Dutta, joint secretary Digantajyoti Gogoi and treasurer Swapnil Borthakur.

Fil results Boy’s singles U-18-:Sanil Jagtiani (IND) def Parikshit Somani (IND): 6-2, 7-6 (3)

Girl’s singles U-18 :.Sabhyata Nihalani (IND) def Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND) 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

Boy’s doubles U-18: Dhruv Sunish (IND): Shrey Gupta (IND) def 2nd seed Parikshit Somani (IND)-Ishaque Eqbal (IND) 2-6, 6-4, 10-7.Girl’s doubles U-18:  Harsha Sai Challa (IND) -Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND) def S.Chilakalapudi (IND)-Shivani  Amineni 6-4, 6-4.
