Sankardeva University pays tribute to literary stalwarts

GAON, November 21: “The veterans who contributed to Assamese literature and society should be honoured and remembered,” said the Vice-Chancellor of Sankardeva University Dr. Kandarpa Kumar Deka on the occasion of a function held at Sankardeva University campus recently.  He also urged the students to show respect to the veterans of Assamese literature. The function was organized under the auspice of the university’s Assamese department. On the occasion five veterans of Assamese literature Dimbeswar Neog, Banikanta Kakati, Birinci Kumar Barua, Prafulla Dutta Goswami and Miles Bronson were paid rich tribute.
