Sanskrit Divas observed

UDALGURI, Aug 13: Sanskrit Divas was observed at Udalguri Sangaveda Vishwasanti Vidyalaya with a day-long programme. The programme was initiated with the lighting of lamp by Tarapati Upadhyaya, Bidyapati Dahal and Govardhan Prasad Chouhan. On the occasion, the girl students of Kalyan Ashram presented a Sanskrit song. The meeting was anchored by Dipak Sarma and presided over by nikanta Sarma, the Principal of Sangaveda Vishwashanti Vidyalaya, Udalguri.  Rudra Shastri and Holiram Basumatari, senior Sanskrit preachers, explained the significance of observing Sanskrit Divas. Tapan Rajbongshi, Sanskrit Bharati teacher, iugurated the meeting and explained the trends in favour of Sanskrit in Assam.  Anta Chetia, Basanta Sarmah and Chiranjeev Chetia also delivered speech on the occasion. The students who have cleared the Sanskrit Prathama and Dwitiya Dikshya were also conferred certificates and the best students were also awarded.
