Santa Tanti awarded by AXX

GUWAHATI, Dec 17: Eminent poet of the state Santa Tanti was awarded with the Sailodhar Rajkhowa Award by Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX), which was given by former AXX president Birendra th Dutta in the award ceremony at Lakhiram Baruah Sadan of the city today.

Dutta said in the ceremony, “We find the materl rigidity in the poems of Tanti unlike other poet of the State, which is rare in Assamese poems.”

The award was received by Tanti’s wife, as he couldn’t attend it due to poor health. The award comes with Rs 12,000, a gamosa, a cheleng sador, a certificate and a handful of books.
