Saplings planted on Gandhi Jayanti

DULIAJAN, October 5: bin Baruah, an employee of the Production department of Oil India Limited, Duliajan, and a resident of Ushapur Khanikor Gaon under Joypur police station, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti recently planted 40 saplings at 169 No. Chapatoli LP School, 40 saplings at Salongini LP School, Kathalguri, 40 sapling at vajyoti Adarsha LP School, harkatia ,80 at Purbanchal Karikori High School and 80 saplings at Basumati ME School. Baruah has been doing such noble activities since 1996 before he joined OIL in 2002 . He saves Rs 10,000 each month from his salary to purchased saplings, manure made by earthworm, bamboo-made cage and flower pots for protection of saplings already planted. Till date he has planted more than 90,000 saplings in school campuses, colleges, roads, parking site, amghar, temples, hospitals, public bus stands, OIL bus stand, xatras, residences, public play grounds and OIL fields in the districts of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Jorhat. He has been working under the banner of ‘Vasudha’. He planted his first sapling, a ‘Borgash’, in February,1996 at Padumoni Tiniali of Duliajan-Bhadoi Road.
