Saraswati Puja celebrated

MARGHERITA, Feb 1: Saraswati Puja was celebrated in Margherita on Wednesday with great enthusiasm shown among the students of schools and colleges.

However, the celebration was marred by the incident of some girls of rich and respectable families allegedly buying liquor from the liquor shops of Margherita. Ramanus Lakra, general secretary of All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) Tinsukia District Committee, expressed concern over the incident and said that students should concentrate on their studies.  He appealed to the Margherita administration and Margherita Excise Department to take strict action against such youths of the region.
