HOWRAGHAT, March 29: Sarat Brahma has been relieved from the post of EM of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) on Tuesday. This was announced by KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang in his Facebook account.

Ronghang wrote in his Facebook account that Brahma was relieved as EM owing to his alliance with the BJP. Ronghang further alleged that Brahma along with leaders of Bodo organizations had met him with an offer to support Congress in exchange for supporting Clause 8 of the Bodo Accord.

Ronghang stated that Congress stood for integrity, commul harmony, peace and development. It could not go against the will of the people of Karbi Anglong as a whole, even if it meant losing some votes. “We will stand for our beliefs and principles; we will not use divisive policies. We will not indulge in coercing people, or indulging in inducements,” Ronghang said.

Meanwhile, he called upon the Bodo people to stand for peace, harmony, integrity, and to strive together for the development of Karbi Anglong. He urged to defeat the forces that were creating division among castes and communities.
