Sarbajanin Durga Puja mandap iugurated

Silchar, Oct 8: Local residents belonging mostly to Manipuri community have been performing Durga Puja since 2008 near Jogai Mathura M E School of Binkandie Part – 1 under Lakhipur sub-division of Cachar. Continuing this tradition, the local residents are celebrating Puja this year also. On Friday, MLA Lakhipur Rajdeep Goala iugurated the pandal of Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee on the occasion of Mahashasti. He praised the president, secretary and other members of the Committee as well as the local residents for keeping the tradition alive. The MLA added to say that Goddess Durga will shower choicest blessings upon them for their hard work.   Among other present during the iuguration ceremony included, H Manimohan Singha, president and also the retired head teacher of Jogai Mathura M E School, Nildhan Singh, vice-president and K H Shanti Kumar Singha, I Kanta Singha, advisor and I Bas Singha, cashier and a retired army captain, of the Committee.
