Sarsenoth Ronghang village celebrates diamond jubilee

Donkamokam, Jan 7: Established in 1942, Sarsenoth  Ronghang village near Donkamokam in West Karbi Anglong celebrated its diamond jubilee (1942 to 2017) with a two-day programme in the village with colourful activities by organizing traditiol games and sports. On the concluding day on Sunday, KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang, while attending as the chief guest, said, “Celebration is possible when we work together peacefully and this is what my village Sarsenoth has shown to the area in the past few decades, and I feel proud to be a citizen of this village, and if the entire people of the district stand together then one day we will achieve the autonomous state.” KAAC chairman Horensing Bey said that the villagers should feel proud that KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang was from that village.

 The organizers remembered the first few families who established the village some 75 years ago and they were Seng Ronghang (came from Somupong, Hamren), Norteng Pator, Sing Ronghang, Basa Ronghang and others. The CEM promised to build a memorial plate in remembrance of the founder villagers. A memorandum also submitted to the CEM demanding open stage, improvement of roads, boundary wall of Sarsenot LP School and PHE schemes. Presided over by Longsing Ronghang, the meeting was also attended by MAC Dorsing Ronghang, MAC Ramsing Timung, BDO from the village, Monjulata Ronghangpi, KNCA founder chairperson Seema Ronghangpi, senior local citizens, teachers and local villagers.
