Sati Tea Estate employee abducted at Namsai

ITANAGAR: Armed militants abducted the supervisor-cum-store keeper of Sati Tea Estate at Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday evening. According to police sources, the victim, identified as Debabrata Deb working at Sati Tea Estate at Bamchuk Beel in Nongtaw area, under Piyong circle of Namsai district, was abducted from his temporary residence at around 7.15 pm.

The tea estate belongs to former MLA Nang Sati Mein.

The kidnappers were in possession of sophisticated weapons and had reportedly introduced as members of Udoy Asom group of the outlawed ULFA- I faction.

The outfit has demanded a ransom of Rs 3 crore against the safe release of the abducted victim.

Security forces, meanwhile, have swung into action and are doing everything within their disposal to ensure safe release of the person.
