SBA Brand Ambassador Sotai Kri Leads Cleanliness Drive

Itanagar: Northeast Brand Ambassador cum convener of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Sotai Kri has undertaken mass cleanliness drive in Tirap district in collaboration with the district administration since Thursday.

The cleanliness drive started from Deomali town, Borduria village and Kaimai village on Thursday while it was organized on Friday at Khonsa Tini-Ali Petrol pump to Khonsa Bazar Taxi stand, Kheti village.

The drive would be organized at Lazu and Dadam circle in the district on Saturday after which Sotai Kri would proceed to Longding district, an official communiqué informed here.

While leading the cleanliness drive at Khonsa, Sotai Kri, who is also the advisor to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, informed that he had conducted cleanliness drive under the banner of Swach Bharat Abhiyan in all the Northeastern states within four months except Mizoram.

Appreciating Tirap DC P N Thungon for initiating construction of iconic toilet at Khonsa, Kri said that it would be first of its kind in the northeastern states. He stressed on preserving the water of Khonsa town stream by abolishing open defecation and instructed all the dwellers to construct proper sanitary toilets with septic tank and soak pit so that the stream water is not polluted. In response to a public memorandum, Kri assured to take up the matter with the state government in regard to early completion of NH-315A from Hukanjuri to Joypur and Hukanjuri to Longding. The programme was attended by public, businessmen from Khonsa market, heads of departments among others, the communiqué added.
