From A Reporter

SHILLONG, May 11: The Students Bar Association (SBA) of Shillong Law College on Thursday met the Examition Controller North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Dr. L. Cajee, seeking the status of their demand submitted to the University last year. It may be mentioned on November 10, 2016, SBA has submitted a three point demand to the University demanding timely evaluation of examition papers and timely publication of results, proper evaluation of exam papers and introduction of interl assessment marks similar to the one students in NEHU are receiving. Further 12 law students led by leaders of the association filed an RTI in front of the Joint-Registrar who is also the PIO of answer script for various subjects. The association members informed that the reason for filing the RTI is due to the fact that they are not satisfied with the marks received by them despite their efforts. Speaking to reporters, Peter A Dohkrut, president, SBA, said the examition controller has agreed to cooperate with them and he has assured that after examining the demands a meeting will be scheduled next week with the association members. He informed the controller had summoned the person in-charge of results and had directed that the results should be declared next week.
