SBI ATMs iugurated in tea gardens

Biswath Chariali, May 7: As a part of government’s ‘Digital India’ policy, two ATMs belonging to State Bank of India (SBI) were iugurated in two tea gardens, mely Mobari TE and Pratapgarh TE, on Saturday evening in the Biswath district.

The ATMs were iugurated by Chief General Mager, North Eastern Circle, SBI, Local Head Office, Guwahati, PVSLN Murty. Speaking on the occasion, he said that SBI would adopt a village in the Biswath district to make it digital. He called upon the common people to take advantage of agriculture loans offered by the government.

Asitaksha Chakravarty, Deputy Commissioner of Biswath, lauded such initiative undertaken by SBI in tea gardens. SBI DGM, Zol Office, Dibrugarh, Tilak Ch Dhar, Regiol Mager Alok Das, Mobari TE Mager A Hazarika and others were present while the programme was conducted by Dimbeswar Borah, Chief Mager, SBI Biswath Chariali branch. Two more such ATMs will be opened in Gingia TE and Dhuli TE soon for the easy payment of the salary of the labourers of the tea gardens.
