SBI celebrates Intertiol Women's Day

Guwahati, March 8: Intertiol Women’s Day was celebrated by State Bank of India, Administrative Office in Guwahati on Tuesday at Rabindra Bhavan. The event began with iugural address by Sanjay Srivastava, Deputy General Mager, B&Q, Guwahati Module  who underlined the importance and indispensable role played by women in building society and the responsibility of the society to show ample recognition and respect to them and ensure their good health. He also highlighted the initiative taken by State Bank of India in this regard on the Intertiol Women’s Day. The initiative was primarily focused on providing curative, corrective and preventive healthcare for women from underprivileged background. A medical camp was set up  by State Bank of India at Rabindra Bhavan for the purpose. Apart from providing basic health checkups for underprivileged women, free of cost, specialised checkups like reproductive healthcare checkups, gyecological checkups, diabetes checkup, dental checkup and eye checkups were also provided to them at the camp. In addition, women who came to the camps were also advised about future course of action and treatments by doctors present at the camp. Information material on common illness among women, their prevention and dietary care were also distributed by State Bank of India volunteers present at the camp. The initiative was also actively supported by Karanir Phool and Lions Club of India, Guwahati, This was stated in a press release.
