SBI dotes vehicles to charitable organisations in city

GUWAHATI, Jan 22: Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India visited Guwahati today. During her visit to the state, she attended an interactive programme with the students and faculties of IIT, Guwahati and also doted a sum of Rs. 10.00 lakh to Sishugram, a child orphage at Amingaon. Despite her busy schedule, she also met FICCI Ladies Organisation to discuss about empowerment of ladies entrepreneurs.

A programme on Corporate Social Responsibility was organised at Local Head Office, Dispur, where Bhattacharya doted utility vehicles and a school bus to Ramakrish Mission Ashram, Kailashahar, Tripura, Vivekanda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur and to Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Pandu, Guwahati to facilitate their effort to provide multifarious services to the poor and underprivileged people, free medical camps and other benevolent activities within their area of operation.

The dotion was made in the presence of P V S L N Murty, CGM, NE Circle, Pan Lal Das & Gautam Bhattacharya, General Magers, SBI, Local Head Office, Guwahati.

CSR activity in Guwahati will be followed by similar event in Shillong where she will extend fincial assistance to 5 times Olympic Gold medallist Mary Kom for construction of hostel for MC Mary Kom Regiol Boxing Foundation in Imphal and flag off a school bus to be doted to Auxilium Umpohliew Jingstad, Nongpoh for their benevolent activities towards providing better transport facilities to the poor students. This was stated in a press release.
