SBI extends fincial aid to social welfare organization

Dibrugarh, Feb 28: The Chief General Mager (North East Zone) of State Bank of India (SBI), PVSLN Murthy, at a function organized under the aegis of Dibrugarh University Branch of SBI recently,  presented a cheque of Rs.1,30,000 to Prero Pratibandhi, a social welfare organization that works for the physically challenged and homeless children. The cheque was given as part of SBI’s Ja Kalyan Scheme (Bank Community Service).

Addressing the function which was hosted by the founder of Prero Pratibandhi and former MLA of Sadiya LAC, Jyost Sonowal, CGM Murthy lauded the constructive welfare activities of Prero.

The event was also attended amongst others by the CDO of N.E.Circle, Guwahati , Kaushik Sinha; the Deputy General Mager (Business and Operation) of Dibrugarh Zol Administrative Office , Tilok Kumar Dhar ; Assistant General Mager, Dibrugarh Regiol Commercial Office, DP Bhatt ; Assistant General Mager of Itagar Regiol Commercial Office , S. Bairagi ; Chief Mager (Administrative) of Dibrugarh Zol Administrative Office , Jiten Chandra Sonowal ; Mager of Dibrugarh University SBI Branch, PP Baruah ; Secretary of SBI Tinsukia Officers’ Association (SBIOA) Umashankar Agarwala ; Bhuvan Mohan Goswami and other officials of SBI and the adviser of Prero Pratibandhi and former member of District Child Welfare Committee, Binod Chandra Borah, Jhar Handique and Jyost Dutta, Mahesh Koiri, Kamal Gogoi and Riju Chetia who are in a special way associated with the organization. Other members were also present in the function.

Earlier, the children of Prero Child Home enthralled the guests and others with their song and dance performances. The Chief General Mager, Murthy, while being asked by a child member of Prero about being provided with a vehicle to look after the health of the physically challenged children, assured to execute the matter in the next fincial year.

Later, the president of Prero Pratibandhi, Biro Singh presented a brief speech on the work being done by the organization and then delivered the vote of thanks.
