SBI felicitates Everester Anshu

Itagar, July 3: Ace Aruchalee Mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa was on Saturday felicitated by the State Bank of India in a glittering function held at the Nehru Centre in Mumbai.

The function which coincided with the 62nd Bank Day celebrations was organized with much fanfare and gaiety and participated by top officials from RBI, Ministry of Fince, among others.

She received the citation and cash award of Rs 5 lakh from SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya. SBI was one of the major sponsors of Anshu Jamsenpa's double ascend Mt Everest Expedition-2017, wherein she created a new world record by climbing the peak twice in 5 days.

Speaking on the occasion, Anshu extended her gratitude to SBI family specially, CGM PVLSN Murthy for the moral and fincial support. She also added that empowered women can help empower other women of which Arundhati is a living example. SBI chairperson Arundhati thanked Anshu for making Indians across the world proud and for unfurling the tiol flag along with the SBI logo on the top of the world during her historic mountaineering event recently.

She said that SBI is always there to support outstanding sports persons, social workers and entrepreneurs. The gala evening ended with a spectacular cultural programme which featured renowned Bollywood singer KK and his troupe, a press release informed stated on Monday.
