SBI mobile wallet app launched

GUWAHATI, August 18: The new mobile wallet app of State Bank of India (SBI) was launched on Tuesda-y by the Fince Minister Arun Jaitley in presence of minister of State for Fince Jayant Sinha in Mumbai and the North Eastern circle office of Guwahati also introduced the app in a press conference held at the SBI office in the city today.  The Chief General Mager of SBI NE circle Sanjay Magoo addressed the press and said: “The app is known as ‘State Bank Buddy’, which has been released in 13 languages including Assamese. The mobile wallet is a virtual prepaid account on mobile phone to help the customers for any fincial transaction. The user can not keep more than Rs 10,000 in his mobile wallet at a time. The day limit of the wallet is Rs 15,000.”

“There are 286 million customers in our bank out of which 2,700 are the mobile banking customers and till 2024, 40 crore people will use mobile wallet and for their help only we introduced the app,” MAgoo said.   Magoo then said: “The app would be featured with loading money from SBI account or other banks using INB, Debit cards or IMPS, sending money to any contact and account with any bank using the mobile number, ask money, recharge mobile/Direct to Home (DTH), pay bills, booking flight, hotel. Movie tickets and shop for your favorite merchandise.” Magoo also said: “The service would be available on smart phones with Android and iOS operating system having data connectivity. We are also declaring a new approach that we will contribute Rs 100 to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for every download and registration till 3pm of August 19 or till registration of 1 million users.”
