SBI organises health checkup camps

GUWAHATI, March 9: SBI, North Eastern Circle observed Intertiol Women’s Day on Tuesday with a difference throughout the Region. The day opened with special medical awareness and health checkup camps at 12 locations viz, Lakhimigar Montessori school, Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati, Administrative Office, Shillong, Jorhat Branch,  Diphu Branch,  Golaghat Branch,  RBO, gaon,  Sibsagar Branch, Tinsukia Bengali Balijan, Tezpur

Darrang College, RBO, Dibrugarh and  Mangaldai College  which  was attended by doctors of the Bank, government hospitals and also private medical units viz, Appollo Diagnostic, Nemcare etc. The camps were specially meant for underprivileged women of the areas and were participated by them in a large number. Besides required medicine, the women were also provided with Multivitamin, Iron and Calcium.

In the evening, a felicitation programme was organized at Banks’ Local Head Office where seven eminent women persolities of Assam were felicitated. They are noted film Director Manju Borah, Xatriya Dancer, Indira P.P. Borah, Litterateur Maini Mahanta, IAS Officials Julie Sonowal,

Dr. Roshan Ara Begum, Krish Gohain and Sajeda Islam Rashid, all secretaries of different departments of Assam. The felicitation programme was followed by distribution of sanction letters of loan to five women SHGs. The programme was presided by PVSLN Murty, CGM, NE Circle and attended by  P.L. Das and Gautam Bhattacharya GMs of the Circle besides banks officials. This was stated in a press release.
