SBI sub-agent arrested for fraud

JOYSAGAR, March 25: The Galeky Police of Sivasagar district arrested a person on charges of fraudulent activity on Saturday from -pam Baruati Gaon near Misajan under mti PS. According to reports, the accused has been identified as one Pankaj Borgohain and he was an authorized sub-agent of the State Bank of India under Sivasagar Sadar Branch. Pankaj had set up a SBI consumer service centre in Misajan area near mti daily bazaar and on behalf of the SBI, he was serving SBI consumers like making fixed and recurring deposits for the customers as well as depositing the loan installments.

However, Pankaj allegedly was pocketing the customers’ money instead of depositing in the SBI Sadar branch. When the customers found this out, they formally filed a complaint before the SBI Branch Mager. Pankaj then went into hiding and the aggrieved customers lodged an FIR in Galeky PS. Galeky Police were able to b the accused from -pam Baruati area on Saturday. A case has been registered in Galeky PS.
