Scheme of distributing blankets, thread will drown Congress: Mohilary

TANGLA, April 7: BTC supremo Hagrama Mohilary and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary attended a mass rally for BPF candidate of 65 No. Kalaigaon LAC, Maheswar Boro at Khoirabari on Thursday.

The meeting started with Kherai folk dance by a cultural troop. Landing in a private chopper at 2.30 pm, Mohilary said, “We are confident that people of BTC are with us and we will definitely triumph and form the government along with BJP and AGP.”

Mohilary also assured the people of land pattas , Scotty for girl students, houses for the poor if voted to power. He assured of a new scheme where free education for students from lower primary to higher secondary would be provided.

Lashing out at the Congress, Mohilary said, “The scheme of distributing blankets and thread to women by Congress will drown the party this time.”

Lashing out at perfume baron and AIUDF president Maula Badruddin Ajmal, he said, “AIUDF claims that they will form government with the help of Congress and AGP just to divert people’s attention.”

Addressing the people, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimari said, “We have already won 40 seats including three in Udalguri in first phase polls held on April 4.” Referring to the growing unemployment problem he said, “The State has 26 lakhs unemployed youths.  Among them 5 to 6 lakhs have not even passed HSLC.” Daimary also said that skill development centres would be built to train all unemployed in various sectors.

He also said that the State was in need of more medical and engineering colleges.  He appealed to the masses to vote for BPF candidate Maheswar Boro.

The meeting was attended by nearly 5,000 people belonging mostly to Bodo, Bengali and minority people.
