Scholar and writer Renu Boro passes away

 KOKRAJHAR, June 19: Renowned Bodo scholar, first Bodo lady MA, first Bodo lady college principal, founder secretary of Bodo Women’s Association, founder secretary of ‘Swdwmsri Harimu Aafad’ and former Principal of Barama College, film actress Dr. Renu Boro died on Monday morning at her residence at Barma in Baksa district after prolonged illness. She had 10 valuable books to her credit. Some books are being used as textbooks in Bodo medium schools and colleges.
Dipak Kr. Basumatary, vice-president of Central Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), Rajendra th Boro, president, Boro Somaj, Lawrence Islary, general secretary of ABSU, Rajen Basumatary, president, Bodo Writers’ Academy, Thaneswar Basumatary, MLA, Chapaguri constituency, Anjalai Daimary, president of Boro Women’s Justice Forum, rayani Basumatary, founder president, BPF Women wing, Champak Boro, BPF leader, Fr. Kulandaisamy, founder of Barama Mission, Fr. Thomas, Fr. Raimon, Gather John, Fr. Balen, Fr. Udaichand,  Baksa district Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Baksa district ABSU, ABWWF and many other leaders and workers of Baksa district were present at her residence today to pay their last respects.
The remains of Renu Boro were taken in a procession to the educatiol institutions like Barama Girls’ High School, Barama HS School, SB Sunrise Junior College and Barama College and tributes were paid to her with flowers and wreath by Principals, headmasters, professors, teachers and students. The last rites were conducted at her residence.
