School authorities deny allegations

SHILLONG, Aug 29: The authorities of Kamala Nehru Secondary School, located at Lower Motigar area of the city has rubbished the allegation that a student of the school died following a teacher beaten him up.  The Principal in a press communiqué issued here on Monday, stated that on August 23, the boy got injured while playing during lunch hour and was rushed to Bethany Hospital. An x-ray was done to determine the extent of injury. The x-ray received the next day revealed no serious injury but just a muscle strain. The Principal stated that the boy is now fit and fine and had attended his special class on August 27. The school authorities exhorted the general public not to entertain and spread rumors without ascertaining the facts from the rights people.
