School building damaged by storm

Doomdooma, March 16: A thunderstorm that lashed in and around Doomdooma on Thursday evening left behind a trail of destruction besides spping power connection and obstructing road communication. The southern end of the building of the Saraswati Balika Vidyalaya was badly damaged when a broken branch of an old mango tree in the nearby Doomdooma Police station premises fell upon it due to strong wind.  According to reports received here, electric lines were spped in many places like Sookersting No.8, Rupban, Rupaisiding and Hansara  near Doomdooma river bridge. It also caused damage in the nearby tea gardens, the extent of which is yet to  be determined. However no loss of human lives or dwellings have been reported from anywhere.
