School celebrates annual day in a unique way

MANGALDAI, November 6: Glorious Public School celebrated its third annual day recently. On the annual day, the school authority arranged a special function to offer felicitation to upcoming writer Jasmine Ara of Mangaldai, who despite her sudden illness that compelled her to be bed-ridden since several years, has continued writing books.

 Young artiste of tiol repute, hid Afrin accompanied by the Director of Glorious Public School, Mizanoor Rahman, president of governing body, Harur Rashid Hazarika and Principal Banda Sarma Bordoloi visited the ailing writer  Jasmine Ara at her residence and offered their felicitation with a letter of citation, a phulam japi and a phulam Bihuwan.

Later in the Annual Day function organized at District Library auditorium here, Director of the School, Mizanoor Rahman offered some valuable gifts to all the four inmates of Kasturi Orphage and offered felicitation to the chairman of Mangaldai Mahila Kalyan Samaj, Rashmi Rekha Sarma. The Mangaldai Mahila Kalyan Samaj has been maintaining the orphage in Mangaldai town. Director Mizanoor Rahman, extending a helping hand towards Kasturi Orphage, made a public assurance to dote food items regularly to the inmates of the orphage.

 In the cultural function, the students of the school enthralled the audience with their talented performance in music and dance. Earlier, former president of Darrang Zila Xahitya Xabha, Phulendra th Saharia marked the beginning of the annual day function by lighting an earthen lamp in a traditiol way. Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das, Dr. Anjan Jyoti Choudhury, litterateur Idrish Ali, secretary of Mangaldai Youth Club, Rajib Kumar Deka (Mintu), jourlist Hemanta Kumar Barua and businessman Bhairab Deka also took part in the annual day programme as guests of honour. Upcoming singer hid Afrin enthralled the audience by performing three immortal songs. Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das offered felicitation to hid Afrin on behalf of the school.
