School girl dies in road mishap in Jorhat

JORHAT: A Class IV student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Baghchung died while her mother was injured seriously after their scooter was hit by a speeding Bolero bearing registration number AS 03BC-2305. The Bolero was laden with liquor cartons and was on the way to Titabor. The mishap took place at Na-Ali Dokhin Hatichungi Tinali under Jorhat Police Station on Monday night, said police sources. The student has been identified as Himadri Hatibaruah (9). She was declared brought dead at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital while her mother Popi Gogoi (38), who was riding the scooty, was injured seriously and is undergoing treatment at JMCH. The Bolero and the scooty have been seized by police.
