School student goes missing

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), January 23: A student of Class VII of vodaya Vidyalaya has been missing since January 21 from the Vidyalaya hostel.

According to sources, the missing student  has been identified as Samarjit Bora, son of Satyajit Bora and Susila Kalita, resident of  Gokpukhuri under Dhekial Police Station. In this regard, the parents of the student alleged torture on their son by a teacher of the Vidyalaya, which compelled him to escape from the school. They alleged that a teacher allegedly punished and tortured him in front of other students for being absent during a period.

Besides, the Vidyalaya authority expelled him for 10 days and called the parents to take their son back home. The parents arrived at vodaya Vidyalaya and discussed the matter with the Vidyalaya authority.  They then went to the Vidyalaya hostel to pick up their son but he was found missing.

Later, in this regard, the parents of Samarjit as well as the Vidyalaya authority filed cases separately in Dhekial Police Outpost.  The police have launched a search operation.
