Schumacher 'still fighting': FIA president Jean Todt

Paris, Nov 1: Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher was "still fighting" two years after meeting with a skiing accident that left him with a severe head injury, FIA president Jean Todt said on Sunday.

The former racer spent six months in coma after the incident in December 2013. Presently, he is undergoing rehabilitation at home.

Todt was team boss at Ferrari, where Schumacher won five successive titles between 2000 and 2004.

"Michael's a close friend. I see Michael very often and Michael is still fighting," Todt was quoted as saying by BBC.

Schumacher won his first championship in 1994 racing for Benetton. He defended his title the following year and then moved to Ferrari where he clinched five more titles before quitting in 2006. IANS
