Science-based competition held at Parakhowa

HOWRAGHAT, Sept 26: A science based competition was organized here on Saturday at Parakhowa Higher Secondary School in Karbi Anglong under the aegis of Aryabhatta Science Centre (ASC), Howraghat Block. Thecompetition is organized every year by the Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC), in support of the Aryabhatta Science Centres to search for talented students have interest in science and technology.

The day-long programme began by hoisting of flag of Aryabhatta Science Centre, Howraghat block. The flag was unfurled by Tarun Chandra Hadique, president, ASC, Howraghat Block. The science-based competition was iugurated by Gha Kanta Baruah, Principal, Parakhowa Higher Secondary School.

The various events of competition like science model making, extempore speech, and poster drawing were conducted with senior science and arts teachers as judges.  Probin th, Coorditor, ASC, Howraghat, Block,

said that hundreds of students from different educatiol institutions under Howraghat ASC block participated. Later, a prize distribution function was organized and prizes were distributed among the students  performed well in the competitions In the prize distribution function, Bhaben Bhuyan, Vice-Principal, Parakhowa HS School, Bhabanda Khakhlary, District Coorditor, ASC and Suchandra th Bayon, retired teacher, Parakhowa HS School attended as invited guests.
