Science exhibition concludes in Dhemaji

GUWAHATI, April 8: The 27th State level science exhibition held from March 27 to March 29 last in Dhemaji concluded on a successful note, a press release said. The science exhibition was organized by the State Council of Educatiol Research and Training (SCERT), Assam in collaboration with NCERT. Altogether 167 students and 50 teachers representing different districts of the State participated in the event.

The theme of this year’s exhibition was “Science and Mathematics for a Sustaible World”. Besides, there were six sub-themes. Three groups were selected against each sub-theme. These groups will later on participate in the 37th Jawaharlal Nehru tiol Science Exhibition.

In order to popularize science among children, NCERT organizes tiol level science exhibition. This year, this exhibition will emphasize on Mathematics and Environment.

The State level Science Exhibition also conducted different competitions like quiz, extempore speech and art competitions. A cultural function was organized among the participants and a souvenir was also released to mark the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji, Ranjit Kr. Borodoloi iugurated the exhibition. Resource persons from Dibrugarh University, Lakhimpur Agriculture Research Centre and Dhemaji College deliberated upon different issues and challenges of science.

The valedictory function was presided over by Dr L.N. Sarma, Director, SCERT whereby, Dr Sarma expressed his satisfaction by holding this type of exhibition remote yet educatiolly progressive district like Dhemaji.
