Science workshop for students held

Guwahati, Nov 16: Discovery Kids Science Adda in sponsorship with Concept Educations organised a two-day workshop for students at Maharishi Vidya Mandir School, Silpukhuri here, a press release said. The workshop was based on live science demo where students of eight and nine standard had participated.

Speaking about their association with Discovery Kids Science Adda, Abhijit Dutta, CEO, Concept Educations said, “This is the first time we are associating with Discovery Kids Science Adda and are glad because like us, they too believe in educating children through their various programs. The most interesting part of the workshop is that, students get to practically learn what they read in text books through live Science demo.”

The workshop specially focussed on understanding sound waves and its connection with musical instrument like tabla, flute, guitar etc. . In the workshop Science Adda has elaborated on topics like transverse waves, different parts of waves, pitch, amplitude, frequency, audible ranges, vibration etc. they also co related every topic to daily life.

Elaborating further, Abhijit said, “Children who generally run away from Science were seen to be completely engrossed during the workshop. Some even came up to tell how much they loved the workshop which has really helped them in understanding things difficult to them.”

Sharing about his experience of attending the workshop, Debojit Sarma studying in Class Nine said, “I am happy that this workshop was organized in our school. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would want more such workshops to be held as learning becomes fun.” Similar workshop will also be held in other schools of the city in days to come, as the main aim of it is to make science learning easy and fun for children.
