Scooty to meritorious BPL girl students distributed in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, June 1: The Education department, BTC, on Thursday distributed Scooty among the HS passed BPL girl students in Chirang district who were pursuing degree courses in various colleges, travelling daily at least 15 km from their homes. In the programme held in the BC Owary Auditorium Hall, Bengtal College,  total 17 students were given away Scooty with helmets and essential papers by the chief guest Kampa Borgoyary, deputy chief of BTC, in presence of Kamalsing rzary, MLA, Atim Hazong, MCLA, Rabishankar Borgoyari, Director, Education Department, Luise Islary, Ex- Minister and others.

In his speech, Borgoyary hoped that this type of presentation would encourage the poor students. So he called upon the students to use their scooty only for educatiol purpose. Expressing happiness over the HS and HSLC results in the district, he said that the educatiol scerio of the district was improving because in the past years, educatiolly Chirang was very backward in comparison to other districts.

“We are on the right track now due to the tremendous effort put in by the officials of the education department as well as with the help of teachers, guardians and well wishers,” he further added. In the programme, 12 students of Class V and Class IX were also ceremonially given away scholarship under the Chief Minister’s special scholarship scheme. The programme was iugurated by Kamalsing rzary and attended by several dignitaries. The programme was conducted by Jaypalsing Brahma, IS and DEEO, Chirang.
