Scout camp organized in Boko

BOKO: July 13: The 9th Annual Camporee for scouts and guides on the theme ‘To Care and Heal’ was organized a 5-day camp at Don Bosco School, Boko from July 2 to 6. South Kamrup District Commissioner, Rajiv Prakash Baruah was the Chief Guest for the iuguration programme along with Captain Tushar Bhasin as well as other dignitaries.

A total of 500 scouts and guides from 20 different schools from Northeast took part in the camp. Scout-based training, adventure activities, hiking, carrier orientation programme, planting trees, camp fire, quiz, rally, exhibition, and pioneering activities were some of the major attractions of the camp. Various competitions were also held among the participating students in pioneering, fancy dress, theme song and cultural dance. A 21 km hike was also organised from the camp site to the Rudra Singha lake. Don Bosco School, Soighuli and Holy Child School, Chandmari, Guwahati were adjudged the best schools in the separately in the scouts and guides category respectively. Mridron Pratim Das of Don Bosco School, Panbazar, Guwahati and Shreya Sharma of St. Mary’s School, Maligaon were adjudged as the best scout and guide of the camp respectively. The camp concluded on July 6 with a colourful programme and distribution of prizes by the dignitaries.
