Screening camp for differently-abled persons held

Tezpur, Feb 4: A screening camp for differently-abled people of Ghoirali, Borjuli, Dhulapadung, Sessa, Dhendai, Sojuli and Tarajuli TE was held on Saturday at the Borjuli TE Hospital premises under Rangapara LAC in Sonitpur district.

 The programme was organized by Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, special member of medical advisory board of plantation workers’ and Medical Inspector Plantation, Tezpur, with the help of District Health Society, Sonitpur as advised by minister Pallab Lochan Das.

 Over 800 people attended the camp and 206 fincially needy differently-abled persons were screened by experts like Dr Jhar Kakoti, Dr Ankur Bikash Bora and Dr Jerine zrin from Tezpur Kaklata Civil Hospital.

 Addressing the people Dr Pradip Kumar, special member of Medical Advisory Board of plantation workers’, explained about various government policy undertaking for the differently-abled persons. Lahkar also said the 206 screened individuals would be given free hearing aid, Calipers, and fincial assistance (as per their requirement) which will aid them in independent living. The meeting was also attended by N Rahman, Mager Borjuli TE, Dr S Phukan, Assistant Principal Medical Officer, Dr Umesh Sarma, Medical Officer, Borjuli TE and others.
