Scribes team visits Bhopal varsity of Mass Communication

Rangia, Nov 30: “I extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Government of Assam for sending the jourlist friends from every nook and corner of Assam as a part of goodwill mission to the only university of this kind in Asia,” said Dr BK Kuthiala, Vice-Chancellor of Makhan Lal Chaturvedi University of Jourlism and Mass Communication at Bhopal, while addressing the jourlist team of Assam on Wednesday.

 “This practice will also strengthen the brotherhood between the two States,” he added. Addressing the team of jourlists, he said that Makhan Lal Chaturvedi University  of Jourlism and Mass Communication, which was med after the famous freedom fighter and litterateur Makhan Lal Chaturvedi, was the only institution of this kind in Asia to have completed its silver jubilee year. The institution imparts modern education to 1,200 students in 32 courses. It is also imparting knowledge on modern digital jourlism. Responding to the appeal of Zahid Ahmed Tapadar, Liaison Officer, Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Assam, Dr Kuthiala assured all possible help and support for setting up the proposed Lakshmith Bezbaroa Institution of Mass Communication and Printing Technology  in Assam. Recalling his experiences during his visit of Assam in the 80s, Dr Kuthiala praised the tradition, culture and the constructive jourlism of the State. He also said that the primary objective of jourlism should be to create an environment for a healthy society. In this interaction, 14 media persons from different districts of Assam expressed their views.
